TOOLS NEEDED ATrACHMENT BOLT Tools needed for assembly of this kit are a phillips screwdriver , 1 / 2 in . socket wrench , or the small MITER FENCE HOLDER wrench supplied with your table saw . ( Philips screw - driver and 1 / 2 in . socket wrench not included ) . MITER FENCE PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER LOCATORPIN SOCKETWRENCH WITH1 / 2in . SMALLWRENCH SUPPLIEDWITH INDICATOR ( _ YOUR TABLESA _ ; _ , HOLE " B " TABLE SLOT Fig . 3 LONG MITER FENCE IMPORTANT : Rail must be oriented exactly as TO ASSEMBLE THE PIVOT ( Locator Pin ) shown for proper assembly of all parts . See Figures 2 and 3 . Tapped holes in the rail are in the bottom channel when using the rail as a long miter fence . Tapped MITER / RIPFENCERAIL holes are in the top channel when using the rail as NGMITERFENCERAIL ) a long rip fence . MITERINDICATOR • Slide the pivot into the bottom channel of the long miter fence rail . Note : The pivot assembled to the miter fence providedwithyour table saw is assembled identical to thisassembly . TS This pivot fits in either hole " A " or hole " B " when mounting the long miter fence to the sliding miter table . sc . Note : Raised ribs on the pivot create a tight fit when installing the pivot . It may be necessary to force the pivot into the holes at first . See Figure 3 . ASSEMBLE THE MITER INDICATOR See Figure 2 . TAPEREDGROOVE • Align the miter indicatorwiththe tapered groove on the longmiterfence rail . • Slide the miterindicatoronto the rail . ASSEMBLETHESAWGAGES ASSEMBLE THE SUPPORT BRACKET See Figure 4 . See Figures 4 and 5 . The supportbracket attaches to the bottom of long SOUARE MITER / RIPFENCERAIL miter fence and slidingmitertable . WASHER _ , _ _ . , \ miter fence rail . • Orient the support bracket as shown in figure 5 . Slide the bracket under the edge of the sliding miter table . • Secure the support bracket to the bottom of the MITER / RIPFENCERAIL _ longmiter fence witha 5 / 16 in . washer and ( LONGRIPFENCERAIL ) RIGHTPOSITIVE 5 / 16 - 18 x 7 / 8 in . hex bolt . STOPBRACKET MITER Note : Thread the hex bolt into a 5 / 16 in . t - nut closest to the table saw . _ . _ , _ INDICATOR • Tighten the bolt securely . PIVOT ASSEMBLE THE POSITIVE STOP BRACKET SOUARI See Figures 4 and 5 . HEADBOLT PLAS _ TE l _ in . SCREW Two positivestop brackets have been providedfor WASHER T - NUTS use as gages when making repetitivecuts , One each is providedfor left or rightside application , • tnsert the square head boStinthe slotin the rip fence . See Figures 4 and5 . • Attach the positive stop bracket to the long miter fence and secure with a 1 / 4 in . washer and t 1 / 4 - 20 knob nut . SAW KNOB SUPPORT • Place either of the left or right positive stop NUT BRACKET / GAGESLOT brackets at the desired position on the rail for LEFTPOSITIVE / / repetitive cuts , etc . STOPBRACKET WASHER HEXBOLT • Tighten the knob nut securely . ( 7 / 8in . ) ASSEMBLE THE WORK SUPPORT BRACKET WORK KNOBBOLT See Figures 4 and 5 . SUPPORTBRACKET Fig . 4 The work supportbracket attaches to the bottomof longmiter fence . As the name implies it provides • Place a saw gage into each end of the long miter supportand stabilityfor longworkpieceswhen making fence rail . Correct orientation of the saw gage to miter cuts on longstock . the rail is important . Align the slot in the saw gage • Attachwork supportbracket to bottomof long miter with the slot in the rail . See Figure 4 . fence as shown in figures4 and 5 , n . • Secure both saw gages to the rail with 8 - 16 x 5 / 8 • Secure the bracket with a 5 / 16 i washer and a in . plastite screws provided . Note : If the screw holes in saw gages become stripped after extended use , turn them over and secure to the opposite ends of rail . Pilot holes have been tapped on both the top and bottom of saw gages . • Tighten screws securely . ASSEMBLE THE MITER FENCE HOLDER AND THE ADJUSTING CLAMP Reassemble the miterfence holder and the adjusting clamp . Place the miter fence holder suppliedwithyour table saw on the long miterfence and secure to the slidingmiter table , See Figure 5 . 5
