ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS INSTALL THE BRUSHCUTTER KIT INSTALL AND ADJUST THE J - HANDLE The Brush Cutter Kit consists of : Installation 1 . Remove the screws , nuts and clamp pieces that • J - handle and hardware were installed on the J - handle for shipping . • Harness 2 . Lay the unit on its side . On the bottom of the shaft • New cutting attachment mount housing is a pre - drilled hole . Tighten • Blade retainer and nut securely . See Figure 2 . • Locking Rod Shaft Housing The D - handle and old cutting attachment shield must be removed and replaced . All other kit items must be Pre - drilled Hole assembled before using the unit with the cutting blade . WARNING : To avoid serious personal injury or damage to the unit , ALL of the items in the brush cutter kit MUST be installed when operating the unit with the cutting blade . Bottom Clamp Anti - rotation screw REMOVE THE D - HANDLE FIGURE 2 Remove the D - handle before assembling the J - handle . 3 . Place the J - handle between the top and middle 1 . Remove the four ( 4 ) screws and four ( 4 ) hex nuts clamp pieces . See Figure 3 . with a Phillips screwdriver . 2 . Remove the D - handle and bottom handle clamp J - Handle on the boom shaft . While holding the three pieces together , install the D - Handle four ( 4 ) screws through the top clamp and into middle clamp . Bottom Clamp NOTE : The holes in the top and middle clamp will ( 4 ) Nuts line up only when assembled correctly . FIGURE 1 5 . Place the clamps and J - handle over the shaft housing and onto the bottom clamp . 6 . Hold each hex nut in the bottom clamp recess with a finger . Start screws with a large Phillips screwdriver . Do not tighten until you make the handle adjustment . 6

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS REMOVE THE CUTTING ATTACHMENT Cutting Attachment NOTE : To make removing or installing the cutting blade or cutting attachment easier , place the unit on the ground or on a work bench . WARNING : The gear housing gets hot with Locking Rod use and can result in injury to the operator . Slot When the unit is turned off it remains hot for a short time . Remove the cutting attachment shield from the gear housing by the removing the three ( 3 ) bolts and nuts with a 7 / 16 wrench .
