To conserve energy , when the brakes are applied , braking force generates electricity which is then sent to the traction battery . In addition , the engine shuts off when the vehicle is stopped . Note : The air vent on the right side of the rear Seat belts seatback is designed to assist in cooling the Hybrid vehicle battery . DO NOT BLOCK OR Take up COVER THIS VENT , as it may cause slack FEATURES / OPERATIONS Too high overheating , resulting in reduced vehicle performance . Keep as low on hips as possible Tire Pressure Warning System reset If belt is fully extended , then retracted even slightly , it cannot be re - extended beyond that point , unless fully retracted again . This feature is used to help hold child restraint systems securely . To find more information about seat belts , and how to install a child restraint system , refer to the Owner’s Manual . SAFETY If tire pressure becomes critically low on any of the tires ( excluding compact spare ) , indicator comes on . Seat belts - Shoulder belt anchor AND Pushing “ SET � button should not turn off the light . EMERGENCY Correctly adjusting tire inflation will turn off the Push up , or light after a few minutes . After replacing / rotating squeeze lock release to lower tire or wheels , push and hold “ SET � button until the indicator blinks 3 times . To access the terminal , open the fuse block cover and the jump start terminal cover . Connecting jumper cables Recommended connecting point Connect positive ( red ) jumper cable to the jump start terminal . Connect positive ( red ) jumper cable to the positive ( + ) terminal on the booster battery . Connect negative ( black ) jumper cable to the negative ( - ) terminal on the booster battery .
